Jim E. Freeman Jr., 63 of Mena, Arkansas passed away Peacefully of Cancer Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the John L. McClellan V. A. Hospital with family close by. Born on October 10, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. A graduate of Licking Heights High School; served in U.S. 82nd Airborne Division 17th Calvary. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Freeman Sr. in 1970, sister, V. Sue Sligh in 2012. Survived by daughters, Christine (Charles) Scott, Janine (Tom) McCleese, April (Brian) Engler and their mother Linda Janine Freeman all of Bucyrus, OH: 3 sons in Arkansas, David (Jessica) Freeman, Chad Freeman and Tony Jo (Maggie) Freeman; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; also survived by his mother Eileen Freeman Ratliff of Pataskala, brothers, Edward (Lee) Freeman, of Texas, David (Teri Lynn) Freeman, of West Virginia, brother-in-law, David Sligh of Pataskala, sisters, Judy K. (Richard) Rupp of Etna, OH and Carolyn (Michael) Gordon, of Oklahoma, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and “The Faithful Dogs” he loved, along with those very special friends who helped him during his illness. Funeral service 11 am Monday, October 14, 2013 at Victory Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Plaugher officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden.
