James McCoy “Coy” Blair, 84, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away on September 10, 2015. He was born on September 25, 1930 in Paintsville, KY, a son to the late Prater and Goldie (O’Bryan) Blair. He is survived by his loving wife, Arnalee “Lee” (Malloy) Blair, who he married on June 4, 1955, and his son, Greg Blair and daughter, Lea Ann Blair; five grandchildren, Lindy (Matt) Blair, Rachel (Sam) Staley, Cassi, Katie and Taylor Blair; great grandchildren, Gauge, Noah, Corbin, Grace and Hank; brother Ford Blair; sister-in-laws, Floretta Blair and Joan (Charles) Dailey; many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Brother Coy was converted August 2, 1997 and became a member of the Hickory Grove United Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg, OH later moving his membership to the Old Oak Springs United Baptist Church, Ashland, KY. He loved the United Baptist Church with all his heart. He was a devoted, loving, loyal and fun husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, cousin and friend. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Masonic Lodge Pataskala #404. He lived and raised his family in Pataskala since 1958. He was committed to the community as a little league coach and an employee of the Southwest Licking School District for many years. After retirement he enjoyed raising cattle and playing with his grandchildren. Through his life his heart always remained in Kentucky. Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME 289 S. Main St. Pataskala, Ohio 43062 where services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 10:30am, with Elders A.J. Williamson, Rutherford Blair and Tony Blair officiating. Interment Pataskala Cemetery. Memorial donations in his honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Columbus Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd. Columbus, OH 43215.
