Annabelle Thompson, 95, of Pataskala passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Summit Acres in Caldwell, OH. She was born in New Castle, PA, on May 5, 1928, to the late Fredrick C.L. and Beulah (Allen) Hohmann. She was a 1946 graduate of Plain Grove High School and then attended New Castle Business College. On March 19, 1949, she married Walter Cornelius Thompson, who was born July 2, 1928, in Peterson, AL, and who preceded her in death on January 19, 1999. He was the founder of Tri-County Oil in Johnstown, where she served as Business Secretary for 38 years.
After retiring from Tri-County she worked part-time at the Pataskala Public Library for almost 16 years, then retired again at the age of 88. She also volunteered for Hospice, Ohio Reads, Red Cross and was a poll worker for many years.
She is survived by three children: Patty of Coshocton, OH, Bob (Glenna) of Ostrander, OH, and Joe (Susan) of Summerfield, OH; nine grandchildren: Tim Thompson, Lydia (Josh) Boles, Josiah (Judith) Thompson, Hannah (Davy) Hostetler, Grace Thompson, Bethany (Justin) Miller, Tabitha (Andy) Stoltzfus, Joanna (Kyle) Yoder, and Silas Thompson; and fifteen great-grandchildren with two more on the way; her sister-in-law Judy Hohmann and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her sister, Avonelle Bonacker, and brothers Jim (and wife Erma) Hohmann and Jere Hohmann.
A private family service was held at the Pataskala Cemetery and a Memorial Service will be held August 12, 2pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 7161 Beecher Rd, SW, Pataskala, OH 43062.
