It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Aloyce Palla McWilliams. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a Pioneer Roblan, Proud Bearcat and friend. Born in Paso Robles on August 2, 1925 to Brady and Ida Palla, Marilyn graduated from Paso High in 1943 and went on to study at Occidental College in Santa Barbara. Marilyn was in business with her father and brother, Brady and John Palla, where she served as Corporate Vice President and Office Manager. Palla Equipment served the local farmers for over 50 years, providing sales and service for Cletrac Tractors, Massey-Ferguson Combines, New Holland Balers, Ford Tractors and GMC Trucks. Her father Brady was Pioneer Day Marshall in 1980 and Marilyn was a Queen’s attendant in 2007 with her high school friends Beverly Torquist, Jane Belmont and Marshall Lester Rougeot.
Marilyn was married to her high school sweetheart, Ralph “Speed” McWilliams for 20 years and together they raised two daughters: Karen Aloyce (Billy G.) Russell and Kathy Lee (Michael) Stewart. Marilyn has four grandchildren Mark and Eric Russell, Julia Stewart Breschini and Jodi Stewart Lilley and four great grandchildren: Tanner, Oliver, Emma and Gatsby. Later in life she met Edgar (Mac) McCullough and enjoyed over 30 years of companionship.
She was a 4-H and Bluebird leader, enjoyed traveling, gardening, her private piano concerts, Finland and identifying wildflowers that she learned from her favorite 4th grade teacher, Georgia Brown.
A Celebration of her life is scheduled for Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Chapel.
