She was born and raised in New England and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston University. Gayle then relocated to Washington D.C. where she met and married Jack, who would be her husband for 60 years. They lived briefly in Rocky River, OH and then moved to Scottsdale AZ, which was her home for the next 54 years.
Gayle was always gracious and social, making friends wherever she went. This endearing part of her personality blessed her with treasured, life-long friends and successful career choices. After retiring, she took up Tai Chi, which became another source of enjoyment and camaraderie.
Gayle was predeceased by her parents, Mildred and Thornton, and her husband Jack. She is survived by her brother Thornton "Buzz" Woodwell, and her two daughters, Lynda and Cheryl.
The family would like to thank all those at Danish Care Center for their kindness and attentiveness to Gayle's care. A memorial service will be planned for the fall; there will be no funeral.
