

Edward Denton Channell passed away surrounded by his loving family in May 2016 in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Ed was born in November 1948 in Tulare, Calif., to Tommie and Margie Channell. He graduated from Shandon High School in 1966 and from Cuesta College in 1969. Ed was an outstanding athlete; he had a hard work ethic, and believed in everything he stood for. He was dedicated to coaching and mentoring young people's lives through his love of sports. He spent many years coaching at Shandon High School and was currently Athletic Director at Shandon High. Ed married the love of his life, Ginger, in 1969 and they had 47 years together. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Ginger Channell, daughter Kimberly Lithwin (Alan), son Ike Channell, daughter Lacey Molesky (Jerry), and sister Beverly Estes. As well as grandchildren: Private Travis Channell (U.S. Army), Laney Channell, Ali Soleil Lithwin, Gavin Channell and nieces and nephews. We would like to extend an honorable mention to his loving dog, Elvis. We would also like to thank the amazing ICU nurses and the team of doctors at French Medical Center. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, May 20, at 11:00am at the Shandon Cemetery in Shandon, California. Arrangements under the direction of Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home, Paso Robles, CA.
