Anthony Ralph Cherone

Tony was born on June 10, 1934, to Ralph Roger Cherone and Tonia Elizabeth Cherone in Belleville, Illinois. He lived in Chicago until the family moved to East Los Angeles, CA when he was about 10 years old. He graduated from Garfield High School, Los Angeles, in 1953.

He attended Marinello School of Beauty and worked as a hair stylist until his mid-thirties. Tony changed careers and then went to work for the Montebello School District. He then transferred to Mission Viejo High School where he was the maintenance supervisor until his retirement in 2000.

In 1955, he married Julie Rogoff and went on to have 4 children. Toni Lynne Cherone Saucedo, Daniel Ralph Cherone, Michael Anthony Cherone and Robert William Cherone. Tony and Julie were married for sixty-two years until her passing in 2017.

The family lived in Cudahy until 1962, then moved to Pico Rivera, CA. In 1973, they moved to El Toro, CA (Lake Forest). In 2000, Tony and Julie retired and bought a house in Cambria. When his health began to fail in 2008, they moved to Templeton, CA.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Toni Lynne Cherone Saucedo, and his sons, Daniel Ralph Cherone, Michael Anthony Cherone and Robert William Cherone. He has 7 grandchildren: Danielle Cherone, Jennifer Cherone, Rebecca Cherone Messinger, Matthew Saucedo, Alec Saucedo, Naomi Cherone and Zachary Heusinkveld. Joni Messinger is his one great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1st, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home (1703 Spring St, Paso Robles, CA 93446). A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 1st, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Templeton District Cemetery (Templeton, CA 93465).
