Zara Inez Woerner was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on March 26, 1932 and entered into eternal rest, on May 12, 2022, where she met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Zara was a kind, generous and loving person – a living example of her deep Christian faith. She held many positions within the Women’s groups at her church along with teaching Sunday school for years. She loved her family and her role as a wife and mother. Zara and her husband Fred enjoyed camping, canoeing and visiting state parks with the kids and grandkids. Zara was also a talented seamstress, making many of the clothes the family wore from baptismal gowns to prom dresses. She was an avid reader and very intelligent person. As a young woman she was selected to attend Oklahoma Girl’s State. Zara was attending OCU on a scholarship from the Methodist Church when she met her husband, Frederick.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne Allison (Jim), Rosemary Aldrich (Dale), Virginia Meng, Melinda Hines (Bill) and Frederick Woerner Jr. (Celita); sisters, Effie Jones and Carolyn Willis, sister-in-law, Ethel Balliet; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frederick, their beloved daughter Margaret Caldwell, great-grandson, Joshua Allison, and brothers, Sheridan Kinkade and William Kinkade.
Funeral service will be held at 9:00 am, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Peace Lutheran Church with burial following at Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Aldrich, Joel Aldrich, Ryan Aldrich, Alex Woerner, Max Woerner and Will Meng, with Bill Hines serving as an honorary pallbearer.
