William Wayne McMasters, 73, of Pasadena, Tx, peacefully met his Lord and Savior at 10:02am, April 2, 2020. He was born in Staley, North Carolina on October 3rd, 1946 to Gladys Earline and King Roy McMasters. He was one of seven children. He was married to his precious wife, Sandra Kay Denman McMasters for 48 years. They lived a beautiful life together. They traveled early in their marriage to other states and countries due to William’s service in the United States Air Force.
William retired from the military after 20 years. He served in Vietnam and as an Air Traffic Controller. He had a passion for Air and Space and furthered his career as a dynamics controller for the United Space Alliance for 25 years. He was a deacon, and a leading member of the sound system ministry at Golden Acres Baptist Church, a member of the Citizens’ Police Academy, and a tireless volunteer at Pasadena Community Ministries.
He was a shining example of benevolence, honesty, kindness, accountability, had a wicked sense of humor, while having a heart of silver because his heart was never soft or showy like gold. He never wanted anyone to go to bed hungry or angry; he was an excellent steward of his money and taught others to do the same. He loved being in the background and making a difference in the shadows. He was a compassion ninja that always moved with purpose. He treated everyone with inclusion, dignity, and respect. He was walking diligence and humility. He loved education, stars, lightning, politics, and blue cheese almost as much as he loved his Creator, and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Earline and King Roy McMasters, and his brothers, Paul and Bruce McMasters, as well as, his father and mother-in love, Truman and Janie Denman.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Denman McMasters, daughter, Rebecca Green and son-in-love, Robert; daughter, Robin Buoy and son-in-love, Michael; son, Ryan Wayne McMasters; and honorary daughter, Karen Parker Beatty.
He is also survived by brother, Bobby and wife, Mary McMasters; brother Franklin McMasters, sister, Claudette and husband Jerry Sands, and sister, Kay Johnston; sister-in-love Pam Cartwright; and brother-in-love Ken, and wife Pat Denman. He also leaves behind an amazing group of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He has four adoring grand children (Colyn Buoy, Chelsea Buoy, Riley Green, and Cayleigh Buoy) that will forever hold Paw in their hearts with trips to Baskin Robbins on the months that have 31 days and serving their community with generosity as he always did. They will remember to be “SA or Sierra Alpha” situationally aware, “never pass up the bathroom,” and not leave someone without saying, “I love you!”
The world will not be the same without him, but is better because of him.
We would like to thank his doctors and care givers for their tireless and sacrificial care over the years. Thank you to Fresenius Kindney Care of Webster and the ER and ICU staff at Methodist St. John’s Clear Lake. We are forever grateful to each of you.
At this time, we are hoping to have a Celebration of Life at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3. **If you feel led to help us continue William’s legacy, please make a donation to Pasadena Community Ministries through Golden Acres Baptist Church of Pasadena, TX.
In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us. Titus 2:7-8
We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19
The family requests that everyone follow the social distancing rule and wears a mask.
