Wanda Jean Hardy “Meme” passed from this life on January 3, 2011 in Pasadena, Texas. She was born on October 6, 1930 in Canton, Texas to the union of R. L. and Francis Johnson. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; and loving husband of 34 years, James Calvin Hardy. She is survived by her devoted son, James Leslie Hardy, Sr.; grandson, James Leslie Hardy, Jr.; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Hardy; brother, Orland Johnson and his wife Neil; as well as numerous other extended family members.
Wanda “Meme” was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 915. She enjoyed making and selling crafts and was especially talented at crocheting Afghans for family at Christmas time. She lived her life as a Christian woman and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church of South Houston where she was a member for 54 years. Wanda dedicated her life to caring for her family, she was a homemaker and anyone was welcome and made to feel at ease in her home. Those blessed to know her could be confident they were cared for and loved, there were no strangers to Wanda, her memory will be cherished and she will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends for visitation between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home on Friday, January, 7, 2011. Funeral services will take place in The Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10:00a.m., with interment to follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
