Virginia Marguerite Case, 88, of Pasadena, Texas passed away August 19, 2016. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 25, 1928. She was the only child of Diana Ringuette of Iron Mountain, Michigan. In 1946, Virginia graduated St. Anthony High School in Detroit and shortly after began working along with her mother at Chrysler Corporation as a stenographer. On August 21, 1948 she married Lynn Harold Case, an engineering student at University of Detroit. After graduating college, Lynn began his life-long career with Shell Oil Company. While with Shell, Lynn and Virginia lived in Norco, Louisiana; Pleasantville, New York; The Hague, Holland; and finally in Pasadena, Texas where they raised their two children. Virginia was a long-time member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Houston. Lynn passed into eternal life in 1979, after sharing their lives together for 31 years.
Virginia was a devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother and was extremely proud of all the children. She is survived by her son, Paul Case and his wife Heidi of Meadows Place; her daughter, Anita Todd and her husband Rick of Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Stuart Case of Houston, Diana Marie Pelletier of Katy, Mitchell Case of Grapevine, Evan Todd of Houston, and Elena Todd of College Station; and great-grandson, Imriel Case Alba of Houston. She truly delighted in her family and loved hearing about every one of their achievements, large or small. All of their stories were special to her.
Virginia, or shortened as “Ginger”, made friends wherever she went. Her wonderful sense of humor and warm nature made her easy to love. Her years at St. Frances Cabrini bore many treasured friendships which she held near and dear to her heart. Her final months were spent in the loving care of Colonial Oaks Assisted Living in Pasadena.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pasadena Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 am under the direction of Deacon Robert Stevens. Interment will be in the Mosherville Cemetery in Mosherville, Michigan on September 30, 2016.
The Case and Todd families extend their warmest gratitude for the generous outpouring of love and support shown to our families. The blessings continue as we hold tight to the memory of our Mother, Grandmother, and Friend.
