Tommy Jeryl Criswell was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1947, then moved to Texas with his family at a young age. He lived the majority of his life in Deer Park & Pasadena, Texas. As a kid, he gained the nickname “Bucky.”
Tommy served in the United States Navy on the USS Washburn (AKA-108) 1966-1970. He married Judy Perkins in 1971 and they were wed for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing, and loved to sing and play the guitar. Everyone always loved hearing Tommy’s beautiful baritone voice. Tommy had a caring heart, a lively personality, and was passionate about his Christian faith. His favorite Bible Verse was Philippians 4:8: “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
Tommy passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 25th at the age of 74. He was loved by many and will be missed.
His parents were Leoda & Thomas Criswell. His siblings were Ronnie Criswell and Linda Howard. He had three children: Pamela, Matthew, and Aaron. His nephew and nieces were Ronnie’s children, Gary & Kim, and Linda’s children, Rhoda, Tina, Bethany, and Rachel.
A funeral service for Tommy will be held Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A committal service will occur Monday, December 6, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veteran's Memorial dr, Houston, TX 77038.
