Timothy Wayne Evans, left us to join the Lord on February 25th 2021 with his loving wife, Sherri at his side. Timothy, a devoted Christian man, dedicated his life to his family and had a close walk with the Lord. Timothy, born on February 18th 1954 to Walter and Jinnie Evans, of Monroe Louisiana, was a proud graduate of Deer Park High School, where he was a star athlete, setting record breaking touchdown returns and where he met his wife, Sherri.
Timothy took great pride in his work, keeping his coworkers safe, as a safety trainer and spent over 30 years as a certified OSHA safety trainer at Simpson Paper Company and at NASA, where he enjoyed meeting Astronauts and contributing to the exploration of space. In addition to work, Timothy spent his time leading Bible study at South Main Baptist church, volunteering for countless positions of leadership in his kids sporting, scouting and school activities and playing Santa Claus for children in need. When he wasn’t busy at work, Timothy loved to spend time with his family, spend a Sunday afternoon smoking a good brisket, sing a good Elvis song, take in a good football game, tend to his beautiful rose garden, or join his wife on one of their many adventures to fly in an air balloon, see the capital, or walk on the Hawaiian shores.
Timothy is survived by his soul mate and loving wife, Sherri Faith Evans, married in 1976, his proud children Philip Wayne Evans and Allison Faith Rojas, married to Eric Rojas; two beautiful grandchildren Heaton and Hudson Rojas; his mother Jinnie Evans; his brothers Alex, Kenneth and Paul Evans; his sister Sarah White; and countless extended family and friends who hold his memory dear.
The family invites friends and family to honor his life on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 5pm – 8pm at South Main Baptist Church of Pasadena, with the funeral, lead by Pastor Ron Lyles on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 11am. Timothy you will be missed.
