Thomas Albert Womble, was born on November 6, 1944 at the home of his parents, Lee Albert Womble and Pansy Allene Walker Womble in Columbus, Arkansas.Thomas passed away on October 17, 2023, in Pasadena, Texas at 78 years of age.
Thomas is survived by his sister Lulann Alice Turner and brother-in-law Joe Turner of Amity, Arkansas, his brother Marvin Allan Womble and sister-in-law Judy Womble of Galena Park, Texas, his brother-in-law Jerry Philley of Galena Park, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father Lee Albert Womble, mother Pansy Allene Womble, sister Dolores Amy Philley, wife Mary Frances Womble and wife Sharron Jo Womble.
Thomas grew up some in Arkansas but at an early age the family moved to Galena Park, Texas in 1951. Thomas attended school in Galena Park and graduated from Galena Park High School in 1962. After graduation from high school Thomas and his brother Marvin enlisted in the Air Force in September of 1962 and Thomas was trained as an air traffic controller, and discharged from the service in August of 1966. After his Air Force service Thomas enrolled at the University of Houston and earned a degree in Electrical Technology. After graduation Thomas went to work for one of the many contractors at NASA, during the early Apollo missions to the moon. After his time working with NASA, Thomas went to work for the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County until his retirement as a Maintenance Facility Supervisor.
Thomas loved his family and was always available whenever needed to help them in any way that he was able and will be greatly missed by all! He like all the members of the Womble Family enjoyed being on a lake, river or creek fishing the days away!
