Sandra West, 75, of La Porte, Texas went to her heavenly home December 4th, 2023. She was born in Philadelphia on January 23, 1948 to Jim and Leona O’Neill. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Sam West, for 58 years. Sandy worked as a cafeteria manager for La Porte ISD and was well loved by students, faculty and staff. District employees would come to her school just for her food. Her family would drive in from college for her scratch made “pigs in a blanket!” Sandy had a passion for serving others, for music (especially Elvis Presley), and most definitely her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren have often commented, “It’s always too soon to leave Nana and PawPaw’s house.”
She is preceded in death by her father Jim O’Neill, her mother Leona O’Neill Looney, her stepfather A.E. Looney, and her brother Jimmy O’Neill.
She is survived by her husband Sam West, brother Ron O’Neill, sister Mary O’Neill, daughter Renee Robson and husband Steve, son Tony West, grandchildren Rebecca Robson, Luke Robson, Grace Robson and Garrett West, niece Ashley Stroble and husband David, nephew Brandon O’Neill and wife April and numerous family and friends.
We love you Sandy! It’s always too soon to leave Nana and PawPaw’s house!
Visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a Celebration of Sandra's life beginning at 3:00PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Immediately following she will be laid to rest at Grand View Memorial Park.
