Royce Earmon East

Royce Earmon East passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on February 8, 2011. He was born in Lexington, Alabama 1927 and moved to Houston Texas in 1956. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Marlyn Virginia East; parents Benjamin Franklin East and Lillie May East; brother Albert East, and Villard East, sisters Grace Mashburn, Effie Thompson, Betty Lawson, and Annie Maye Stanford. He is survived by his son David East, daughter-in-law Kim East of Deer Park, brother Harlan East and sister-in-law Barbara East from Olive Branch, Mississippi; granddaughter Lisa Coughlin and husband Jeff Coughlin, grandson Glenn East, great granddaughter Kaitlyn Coughlin, great grandson Jeffrey Coughlin, brother-in-law Harold Hunt, and numerous friends.

Royce served his country during World War II in the US Navy. He along with his son David owned and operated Lancer Tire Company for over 28 years in Pasadena, TX. He was an ordained Deacon at Allendale Baptist Church, Houston. He loved gardening and visiting with family and friends.

Visitation will be held February 10, 2011 at Grandview Funeral Home from 2 pm – 3:00 pm. Funeral Services will commence at 3 pm. at the funeral home with interment to follow.

Though it is a sad time for those who loved Royce, we rejoice knowing one day we will meet again.
