Robert James Nield

Robert James Nield passed away in Pasadena, Texas on October 12, 2012 at the age of 77. He was born on October 10, 1935 in Cumberland, Maryland to the union of Silas and Effie Nield. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Patricia Mills Nield; 3 daughters, Vicky Farris and her husband David of Goodrich, TX, Cindy Roberson and her husband Clif of Pearland, TX, Kaye Adler and her husband Scott of La Porte, TX; stepson, Robert J. Mills; 5 grandchildren, Cathy, Melissa, Kellie, Andrew, and Nathan; 5 great grandchildren, Preston, Mason, Austin, Zachary, and Rachael; 1 brother, Bill Nield of Pennsylvania; 2 sisters, Bess Schmidth of Maryland, and Delores Barnhart of New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents, Silas Nield and Effie Dale Nield; wife of 33 years, Neva Catherine Nield; 3 brothers, Joe Nield, John Nield, and Tom Nield; and 1 sister, Kathleen McDonald.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 18, 2012 between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 pm at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home, with Dr. Paul McWherter of Glenwood Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 pm at Brookside Memorial Park where Robert will be laid to rest with military honors.
