Rafeal C. Garza left this earth to be with God on June 29, 2014 in Destin, FL, at the age of 45 after a year-long battle against cancer. He was born in Pasadena, Texas on October 7, 1968, to Frances Estrada. Ralph was a long-time resident of Pasadena and La Porte. He is survived by his loving parents, Rey and Frances Estrada of Pasadena, TX; siblings, Ricardo Garza, Belinda Ponce, Debra Hasan, Cynthia Precella, Frances Rocha and their families, including twenty nieces and nephews; and by his loving and supportive wife, Judy Garza and beautiful daughters, Bethany Erin and Camryn Elyse.
Ralph was an avid sportsman, spending much of his free time golfing, fishing and tailgating in passionate support of his Houston Texans. He loved to grill and host gatherings of his family and friends and always brought a crowd to cheer along with him.
Family was the most important thing to Ralph. He taught the value of family to his children and led by example for the rest of his family by constantly bringing them together for reunions, vacations, holidays and, of course, EVERY Texans game.
Ralph’s positive attitude remained as he battled this past year. His fearlessness and strength was not to be trumped by his illness. He was a true and courageous fighter, an overcomer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Pasadena and the memorial service and funeral will be Saturday, July 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Pasadena.
The family requests in lieu of flowers a personal donation be made to the family to help defray medical costs.
