Perry Dexter McCauley, 70, Houston, Texas, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019. Perry was born in Pasadena, Texas on September 5, 1949, to Annie Jewel and Ireland Dexter McCauley. Perry graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1968 where he especially enjoyed playing baseball. Perry attended Sam Houston State University where he studied Police Administration. Perry later joined the Houston Maritime Association and enjoyed a long career as a Marine Surveyor and Field Claims Adjuster with J.R. Bencal & Associates, Houston, Texas. In later years, Perry became a Master Field Claims Adjuster and worked across multiple insurance claims disciplines with several international insurance companies across the United States.
In 1974 Perry married Sue Ellen Theiss of Houston. They made their home in Houston and had two children Jennifer and Kyle. Perry was devoted to all in his family and many friends and continued a life-long passion for all sports and became a sports officiator for youth and adult recreational sports in football, baseball and basketball.
Perry would marry Susan Colleen Lange on June 21, 1985. Perry and Susan had a son, Sean and would move to Colorado to make their home in Arvada for the next 25 years, where Perry developed life-long special relationships with Susan's ranching family, especially her father Bill Lange, and brothers Steven and Greg. But Perry loved his Texas roots, and always missed his family and friends in Houston and enjoyed many memorable family vacations to Texas.
Perry's savior was our Lord Jesus Christ, he was a devoted family man who loved and cherished his children and grandchildren very much! Perry loved telling stories of his colorful youth growing up in Pasadena, Texas, with his family and many friends. Perry loved everything Texas - sports, barbeque, hunting, fishing and country music!
Perry is survived by his wife Susan of 35 years; sister Iris (Derek Walters) in Clear Lake; daughter Jennifer (Jason Siegmund) in Austin; son Kyle (Shana) in Houston; son Sean (Lyndsey) in Dallas; cousins: Rodney & Credia Moore, James & Dennis McCauley, Margie Gordon and Janice Duncan; mother-in-law Jerri Fowler; brother & sister in-law Steve and Wanda Lange; brother-in-law Greg Westfall and family; nephews Phillip Davis, Chad Lange, Cole Westfall; niece Kelly Lange, BriAn Westfall; grandchildren: Hannah, Lila, and Kiley in Austin; Tyson and Madison in Houston; Addison and Reagan in Dallas.
