Patricia Rose Westmoreland

Patricia (Patsy) was born July 2, 1936, in Galveston, Texas, to Barbara and Daniel G. Doherty. Patsy was the youngest of seven children. She is preceded in death by brothers Edmond, Daniel, and Joe and sisters, Katheleen, Bobbie, and Marguerite.

Patsy attended Dominican High School, a private Catholic school for girls, in Galveston, Texas. She was head twirler for the drill team and received many awards. Patsy was a talented skater, and it was often said she could have skated professionally.

In 1956, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Ray Leon Westmoreland. Together, they began their journey and shared a lifetime of love and adventure.

Patsy loved children and felt a calling to become a crossing guard for the Pasadena Police Department for over fifteen years. She loved keeping all those who crossed her path safe, and she greeted all of them with a warm, friendly smile.

A devoted Catholic, Patsy attended St. Hyacinth Church in Deer Park, Texas. She was committed to her Catholic values that she held closely. Her relationship to the Lord was celebrated by singing and praying her rosary. She believed in God's plan for all of us, and she often said, "Take life one day at at time."

Patsy is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ray Westmoreland; son, Randy, and wife, Lisa Westmoreland; son, Allen and wife, Cheryl Westmoreland; daughter, Linda, and husband Randy Weaver; and daughter, Pam, and husband, Randy Littlejohn. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Grand View Chapel on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. A mass will be held at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
