Patricia Lee Thenemann Rogers, 64, of Deer Park, TX, died Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Houston, TX, after a courageous battle with cancer following a double lung transplant. Patricia was born October 26, 1950 in Litchfield, MN, to Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Thenemann of Baytown, TX. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School-Baytown in 1968. A gifted student musician who once played with “Doc” Severinsen, Pat earned a four-year music scholarship to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, where she graduated in 1971. She married her soul-mate and devoted husband, Johnnie Richard Rogers, in 1972. After earning her Master’s in Education, Mrs. Rogers worked for 14 years as an elementary school principal at Teague Elementary School in Pasadena, TX.
After her retirement in 2006, Pat enjoyed entertainment of all kinds: fine dining, bowling, fishing, movies with friends and doting on her precious granddaughter, Maura Johnnie Rogers. Pat is survived by many dear friends and family including her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Shannon Rogers with grand-daughter Maura of Deer Park, TX, her mother, Cecelia N. Thenemann, her sister, Charlotte T. Cherry, her niece and husband, Donna and Tim O’Sullivan, all of Longview, TX. A visitation will be at Grand View Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.with a funeral service on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Pasadena on Fairmont Pkwy with interment at Grand View Memorial Park to follow.
