Oscar Davis

Oscar Davis was born in Marks, Mississippi on October 24, 1945 to James Oscar Davis and Ocia Bell (Riley) Davis. Oscar graduated from Quitman Co. High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University. After college he married Nadine Kearney, until her death in 2000, and together they had two sons, Enoch LaGrant Kearney and Keith Osric Davis. On February 22, 2002, he married Mary Ann Green and gained three step sons, Alan, Jerome, and Quentin Cooper. Oscar and Mary Ann resided together until his passing.

Oscar was a dedicated husband and father, and worked diligently to provide for his family. Many consider him the stronghold of the family and a source of great wisdom. He was an avid bowler and competed in many bowling competitions successfully. In addition to his family life and hobby, he began his engineering career with Gulf Western and later served the majority years of his life working at Dynamic Products, Inc. in Houston, TX.

Oscar is survived by his wife Mary Ann Davis, sons, Enoch (Tina) Kearney and Keith (Heather) Davis, as well as 9 grandchildren, Broderic Kearney, Jasmine Kearney, Osric Kearney, and Michael Mayer, Kissryn Davis, Brooklyn Davis, Bronsyn Davis, Brevyn Davis, and Liryn Davis; 5 step grandchildren, aunts, uncles, a host of nieces and nephews, as well as, extended family and friends.

Oscar is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, James L. (Mattie Dean) Davis, Edward (June) Butler, Mary (Theodore) Shaw, Thelma Whitehead, Ruth (Billy) Jones, Clara Dawkins, Alice (Billy) Figgs, Cleoptha “Doc” Davis, Samuel Davis, Rosetta Fluker, and Johnny (Rose) Davis.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Oscar Davis and his mother, Ocia Bell (Riley) Davis, his first wife, Nadine K. Davis, his bothers, Dan Butler, Willie Davis, Leroy Davis, and Charles Davis. Mattie Jackson, his sister, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77571 on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Viewing begins at 9:00 am with service to follow at 12:30 pm.
