

Oliverio L. Alvarado was born in Los Ramones in the state of Guerrero, Mexico to Manuel and Olivia Alvarado on May 13, 1940. As a young man, Oliver met Eunice Gallegos and married on April 26, 1958 in Robstown, Texas. Oliver and Eunice were married 53 years.
Oliverio was originally a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Robstown, Texas for 40 years. After the Oliverio and Eunice relocated to Pasadena, Texas, he visited and joined several churches in the Houston/Pasadena area including: Primera Iglesia Bautista in Pasadena, Templo Bautista and Primera Iglesia Bautista in Alvin, TX. Oliverio had a passion in helping local churches grow. Oliverio was also a deacon for 45 years and a Sunday school teacher for many years.
In his entire life, Oliverio had only one profession. He spent over 50 years in the tank building/oil refining industry working for various companies: CBI, Brown and Root, Citgo, Champlin, Shell, and most recently BEI. Oliverio was highly sought after for his extensive knowledge in tank manufacturing and inspection. He taught many young engineers in his long career.
Oliver is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Alvarado and Olivia Lozano Alvarado.
He is survived by his children, Celia Alvarado, Edward Alvarado and wife Robinel, Oliver Alvarado, Jr., and wife Helen and David Alvarado and wife Ruth; grandchildren, Noemi Pedraza, Roland Zamora, Angelica Alvarado, David Alvarado, Olivia Alvarado and Jacob Alvarado; great-grandchildren, Isaac Pedraza, Malaquias Pedraza and Eva Pedraza; brothers and sisters, Lydia Serna, Nelson Alvarado, Oscar Alvarado, Manual Alvarado, Israel Alvarado, Elizabeth Guerrero, Gloria Deleon, Roy Alvarado, Zobieda Garcia, Ida Parker and Belen Epps; and numerous loving family members and friends.
The family will recieve friends on Sunday, May, 20, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. in The Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
