Nora Faye Smith passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 14 at the age of 94. Faye was born on December 7, 1925 in Smithville, Oklahoma. She was born to Fred Wiley Cox and Cordelia Marie Robinson Cox. Faye married George C. Smith on February 20, 1954 and they were married for 51 years, until his death in 2005. She lived in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas, where she was residing with her daughter and family at the time of her death. She was a member of First Baptist Church Pasadena.
Faye was a loving, selfless, strong, feisty and wonderful woman. She tirelessly cared for her invalid daughter Susie until her death at 66 years of age. She dedicated her life to her family and was happiest while spending time with them. She enjoyed taking vacations with family, attending church, working crossword puzzles and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress and could make patterns from paper and completed projects in record time. She made well over 100 quilts and afghans that she loved to give to her family.
Faye is preceded in death by her husband, George (Charlie) Smith, daughter (Susan Pickett), parents, (Fred and Corky Cox) and brother (George W. Cox).
Surviving relatives that will cherish their memories with her are son David Smith and wife, Hope and daughter, Fawn Maldonado and husband, Terry. Faye was blessed with five loving grandchildren, James Smith and wife Jeanne, Jaclyn Smith, Crystal Gallegos, Jake Wade and wife Jordan, and Ashley Wade. She had nine great-grandchildren that she adored, Mackenzie Smith, Reed Smith, David Smith, Sterling Meyerson, Merrit Meyerson, Sean Gallegos, Liam Brown, Carter Wade and Calvin Wade. Faye also leaves behind nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and friends.
