Nell Deveny

Ida Nell Deveny, 82, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 in Sugar Land, TX. She was born May 27, 1933 in Abilene, TX to Harold and Lucretia McDonald. The daughter of a minister and a teacher, Nell earned education degrees from Abilene Christian College and Texas Technological College, teaching in New Jersey and Texas.

Nell wed Charles Deveny, Jr in 1964 and settled in Pasadena, TX, enjoying 50 years of marriage before his death in 2015, two days after the passing of her only brother, Harold McDonald, Sr. She is survived by sons Daniel, Ken, and Glenn Deveny.

A loving, devoted wife and mother, Nell enjoyed gardening, music, teaching Sunday School, and comforting the ill with cards and letters. Funeral services will be at 1pm Tuesday, May 10 at her beloved Watters Road Church of Christ in Pasadena, TX.
