Mike Bernal Sr.

Mike was born on February 18, 1956 in Houston, Texas to Larry Sr. and Barbara Bernal. He graduated from Pasadena High school class of 1974. He married Maria Hernandez at the age of 20 in 1977 and raised five children. As an avid sports collector, he accumulated a large collection of sports memorabilia and model cars. He worked for the City of Pasadena for 32 years and retired at the age of 47 in 2003. After retirement, Mike went on to pursue entrepreneurship with various businesses. Starting and ending with Bernal Backflow System Testing, alongside his two sons.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Larry D. Bernal Sr and granddaughter Zoe Cortez. He is survived by his mother Barbara Bernal, his wife Maria, his five children; Suzie Bernal-Rodriguez & husband Jose Rodriguez, Erica Bernal-Cortez & husband Joe Cortez, Jessica Bernal-Arenas & husband Ricardo Arenas, Mike Bernal, Eric Bernal, grandchildren; Elijah, Issac, Noah, Brissa, Lillianna, Catallinna, Lydia, siblings; Larry Bernal Jr., Linda Avila, Donald Ray Bernal, Carol Cantu, Clayton Bernal, Josephine Zepeda, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members. A sweet, caring, strong person, he always made a lasting impression with everyone he met, and will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 12, 2019, from 5pm to 9pm at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena. Celebration of life Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2pm with entombment to follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
