Mary Ann Mitchell Parker, 88, of Deer Park, Texas gained her wings on December 31, 2019. She was born in Gause, Texas on January 1, 1931. Being born on New Year’s Day was always bittersweet for her. Every time someone would ask when her birthday was she would get sassy and say 1-1-31 yet she always said that everyone was always out of money the week after Christmas so her birthday was minimal. One thing you better never do is wrap her birthday presents in Christmas paper! She got to celebrate her 1st birthday in heaven on January 1, 2020 so she finally got to have the big celebration that her birthday deserved! Mary Ann was born to Daniel Webster Mitchell and Annie Pearl Cupp Mitchell. She retired from the mortgage business after 34 years as a loan processor. She really enjoyed all the people that she got to meet in the business and especially loved helping young couples purchase their first homes. She was a devoted member of Faith Assembly of God church in Pasadena, Texas where she was famous for her chocolate pies. Mary Ann was typically a quiet person unless she was around children. Being with children was truly her passion. Growing up as the oldest child, she helped with her siblings. Later, she helped raise her nieces while raising her own children and working full time. She took in any child that needed her love, even the friends of her children at times. Eventually, the need came to take in her great-grandson, Dustin. She raised him from birth until the day she passed 13 years later.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her son Ronnie N. Brinkley and her grandson Champ Trace Graham. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Robert Daniel and Thomas Gayle Mitchell and her sisters Hilda Jean Barnes and Vivian Elizabeth Reed.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 27 years, Clarence Monroe Parker, her daughter Kristi Jean Graham and husband, Chris, son Larry Dwayne Brinkley and wife Debra, daughter-in-laws Cindy and Jane Brinkley. She was an extremely proud Memaw to 12 grandchildren; Darren Gillen, Nathan Brinkley and wife, Allyson, Amy Brinkley, Amanda Aguilar and husband, Agi, Kyle, Kaitlyn and Tabatha Bailey, Ashlee, Auston, and Aldon Brinkley, Kylie and Carly Graham. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to 6 great grandchildren; Dylan Rowe, Destiny and Dustin Brinkley, Makenzie, Jaxon and Milah Brinkley. She was also very excited about the upcoming birth of her 7th great grandchild.
The services for Mary Ann will start with a visitation on Sunday, January 5th from 3-5 pm and service on Monday, January 6th at 10 am at Grandview Funeral Home. The address to the funeral home is 8501 Spencer Highway Pasadena, Texas.
