Mary Lou Johnson Hicks, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 8, 2011. She was born January 11, 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late John Lee and Lottie Johnson. She married her high school sweetheart, William J. Hicks, Jr. on April 3, 1944.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Esther Irene Hicks.
Mary Lou leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Phyllis Thompson, Mary Ferris; son, William Hicks; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; her daughter in Christ, Charlotte Merten and several other loving family members and friends.
Family will receive friends, Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 5-8pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at St. Christopher Episcopal Church, 2508 St. Christopher Road, League City, Texas.
