Marion Harold Turner, 80, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Harold was born October 7, 1935 in Santa Anna, Texas to the late Manuel Hughy and Cuba Garner Turner. Harold grew up in Melvin, Texas and graduated from Melvin High School in 1954. He met the love of his life, Tamara Irene Holliday, in 1952. They married in Brady, Texas in March of 1957. After Harold attended Schreiner Institute and Cisco Junior College, he then served in the United States Army. The Turners eventually settled in Houston in 1961.
Harold was a long-time Pasadena resident for 45 years. He had a green thumb when it came to gardening and a knack for barbecuing. When he wasn’t working hard outside, he enjoyed spending the day in his plant room. Harold was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He cherished all of his children and grandchildren and loved to spend time with them. Harold served as an excellent role model for all. He taught you to stand by your principles, to always help your family, friends and neighbors, to love your children unconditionally and to know a man’s character is his destiny. He will be missed by all, especially his loving family.
Harold is survived by his wife of 59 years, Tamara Holliday Turner, sons Corkey Lynn Turner, and wife Debbie, Gary Wade Turner, and wife Cassie, and Ronald Hugh Turner. His sister, Mary Turner Tilson from Del Rio, Texas. His grandchildren, Brooke LeighAnn Turner, Brittany Irene Turner, Nathalie Kae Turner, Thomas Hayden Turner, Monica Marie Turner, Danielle Morales Walter, Edward James Morales, Michael and Brandi Stevenson. His great grandchildren, Kayla Kendall, Lexie Seymour, Abigail Walter, Cora Walter, Guiliana Stevenson and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
