Larry Arnold Brammer met his savior, Jesus Christ, face to face on July 2, 2024. Born on September 15, 1935, Larry was a lifetime resident of Pasadena, Texas. He attended Kruse Elementary, Jackson Junior High, Pasadena High School, Class of 1953, and San Jacinto Junior College. Larry worked at the Sinclair Houston Refinery from 1955 to 1961, and again from 1966 to 1986. He was an Operator at the Water Clarifier Unit.
In 1955, Larry married the love of his life, Margaret Elaine Parten, whom he had met at a costume party. They raised two children, David and Donna. Larry and Elaine raised their children in church and led by example. They took many camping vacations to Colorado, California, Washington state, Michigan, and Wyoming. He loved making homemade ice cream and popcorn…with coconut oil of course. Larry was not a fisherman or a hunter. His passions included photography, motorcycles, tractors, and all things “do it yourself.” He really enjoyed working on things.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Ruby Brammer, his brother James Lamoine Brammer and wife Grace, and his sister Laverne Brammer Holmes and husband Dr. Edwin Holmes, and his precious daughter Donna Lynn Brammer.
Larry’s surviving family includes his wife Elaine, son David Brammer and wife Mary, step-grandson Ryan Seabranch and wife Chelsea, and step-great grandchildren Brody and Bailey. Other living family members include his cousin Sue Campbell and her husband Bob, nephew Dr. Michael Holmes and wife Becky, and niece Brenda McClain. The Holmes and McClain families add even more loving family members, spouses, and children.
Larry’s surviving Parten family members include sister-in-law Joyce Meek, nephew Robert Meek and wife Denise, niece Cindy Meek, nephew Matthew Meek and wife Kimberly, sister- in- law Karen Ament and husband George, niece Lynn Malone and husband Tim, niece Lee Patrick, niece Malinda Tyson and husband George, and nephew David Ray Starnes and wife Jennifer, plus numerous grand nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday July 12, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grandview Funeral Home on 8501 Spencer Highway in Pasadena, Texas.
