I want to tell a story about this kind and considerate man, it'll be a little long.  I met Kenneth at JSC and was the only woman working in the field in the maintenance department when he worked shift work. Not all the men were kind, but Kenneth never had an ugly thing to say. One Spring he heard me say I liked purple and he brought purple Crepe Myrtle flowers that he picked off a tree to the lunch table in Styrofoam coffee cup. He didn't share the lunch table, he just left the flowers and went about his day. He did this several times as long as the trees made flowers and we were at work the same days. It was a sweet kindness from a man that wanted nothing more than to make someone's day a little nicer. I took home the sticks of flowers and planted them on several occasions. Eventually one sprouted and I now have a 7 foot purple Crepe Myrtle tree in my front yard because of his kind deed. I'll never forget the kindness he showed when I was new on the job and now I have a forever memorial tree to share. Rest easy Mr. Lunday, you will never be forgotten. Thank you all for your sweet words. Our families appreciate all of the love and support you have given to us. We miss him so much but he is in a better place and no longer suffering.

I remember you so much when I was little at the bait camp. My favorite memories of you was when you would come to bait camp with your dogs especially King and princess. They were dobermans I was scared to death of them but they were your babies. You were a gentle soul I remember how funny and very kind you were. You always loved your family. You are a beautiful angel now free of pain we love you uncle Kenneth rest in peace.

I extend  heartfelt condolences to Kenneth Lunday's family. I worked with Kenneth for many years at Johnson Space Center. We were on the same shift in the operations group and spent many hours together. I enjoyed being around Kenneth as I found him to be a down to earth, genuine, warm human being. I have many fond memories of this fine man and may he rest in everlasting peace.

In loving memory of my brother Kenneth Lunday. You were one in a million and my best memory of you were when we were kids. You loved life and you loved people and you would give anyone your last dime. You was raised to work and you loved every bit of it. You became a Christian two years ago after you were diagnosed with cancer, but you said "I am going to beat this". I always told you "Yes, you are". My last memory of you is when you were in the hospital and you picked up Kathy's hand and said "I love you" and you picked up my hand and you were so weak and frail that we barely could understand you. You kissed my hand and said "I love you Sis" and that's when I believe you knew you weren't going to make it. You held my hand so tight, I had to pull away. You will be missed by so many people who loved you and life just won't be the same without you. I love you Ken. Love, Sis

Uncle Kenneth, You are greatly missed. I remember you when I was a kid, always teasing me, mostly about boys. I thought you were so handsome with that dark hair and long sideburns that reminded me of Elvis Presley. You were cool, handsome, and fun to be around. You shared your faith with me and I knew you were at peace and with God who gave you strength the past few months. I will see you again. Rest in peace! I love you!

I was never so glad to hear that somebody had realized their need for the Lord, as when I heard Brother Kenneth tell me that from his very own lips, here only just a few short months ago, when he told me that he had accepted Jesus as his Lord & Savior, which makes this transition to his eternal "Home", a much easier event to accept, as we know where he has gone.  

I first met Brother Kenneth when I began working at The Johnson Space Center, back in March of 1975, during the joint Apollo-Soyuz Mission with the Russians, and we became friends shortly after we met.  One of my very favorite memories of Brother Kenneth was, one time, when he used to do some shrimping out of Clear Lake, I was watching him pouring gasoline out of a gas can, into his outboard motor gas tank, all the while with a lit cigarette dangling out of his mouth, to which I exclaimed, "Brother Kenneth, you're gonna blow us both up, if you don't put that thing out while you're pouring that gasoline", to which he replied, "Oh, hell, Beau, I've been doing this for 20 years, and I ain't never blowed nothing up, yet" !!!!  That was Brother Kenneth.

My thoughts and prayers are with Bobbie and the entire family, and we know that if we trust Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior, we WILL see Brother Kenneth, again, one glad day, when we will be reunited with him, and all the rest of our loved ones, forevermore !!!!

Rest in Peace Uncle Kenneth. We love you and will always cherish all the memories we had. Thank you for taking over as our dad when we lost our father. So thankful that you turned your life over to the Lord and am now reunited with your mom and dad and oldest brother. We will miss you!
