First and foremost he was a man of God. Johnny was a devoted father, loving son, a wonderful husband, an amazing brother, a proud grandfather, a caring and protective uncle, and a great friend to all that had the honor of knowing him.
Johnny grew up in Pasadena, Texas with his 4 brothers and 1 sister. With all 6 of them being relatively close in age the Salcedo’s were a tight knit group and if you messed with one of the Salcedo’s you messed with all of them. Johnny attended Deer Park High School with the graduating class of 1989. He met the love of his life Marissa Torres while she was working at the Sellers Station just down the street from his childhood home on Washington Street. Coming from a large family himself, Johnny and Marissa decided to make an even larger one and together they had 7 children. Johnny was a hard-working and devoted family man. He was with his most recent employer, Clean Harbors for 10 years as an operator. While maintaining a grueling work schedule he always managed to find time to spend with his boys attending car shows and with his beloved Cloe with her cheerleading. He was so proud of his son and daughter; Adrian and Vivian for serving our country in the Marines and the Navy. He was beaming with pride when his daughter, Jasmin decided to go into the nursing field and was proud of how independent Vangie turned out to be.
Johnny, along with all of the Salcedo’s was a die hard Dallas Cowboy’s fan and shame on you if you came to the Salcedo house and cheered for any other team. Johnny without a doubt ALWAYS put his family and their needs or wants before his own. But, when he had a little extra time or money and everyone else’s needs were taken care of he would spend some of that on the other love of his life, his 1986 GMC truck. Johnny owned his truck for 18 years and it is definitely a part of the Salcedo family. He is loved and will be missed very much. While he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.
