Juan Guillermo "Chacho" Lopez, Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, surrounded by his family in Pasadena, Texas. He was born on May 25, 1958, in Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Caritina Barrera Lopez and Guillermo Lopez.
Juan, known to many as "Chacho," found joy in life's simple pleasures, such as sharing a good, cold beer and a hot meal with friends and family. His cheerful spirit and warm camaraderie made these moments special and memorable for all fortunate enough to join him.
Family was important in Juan's life, and he cherished his roles as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to strengthen and inspire his family.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Caritina Barrera Lopez and Guillermo Lopez, as well as his brother Ismael Lopez and two sisters, Idelma Saenz and Irma Mendoza.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Rita Lopez. Juan is also survived by his three sons, Juan Guillermo Lopez Jr. (wife - Susan), Christopher Lopez (wife - Diana), and Benjamin Lopez (wife - Samantha); his beloved grandchildren, Jasmin Lopez, Juan Guillermo Lopez III, Delilah Lopez; and great-grandchildren Michael Vera and Julian Vera. They will continue to carry on his legacy.
Juan's memory will forever be cherished by his sisters Reyes Perez (husband - Gonzalo), Irasema Sanches (husband - Jose "Chema"), Irene Falcon (husband - Rene), Iliana Ruiz (husband - Martin), his brother Marcos Lopez (wife - Ybette), and brother-in-law Jose Adan Saenz, sister-in-law Solay Lopez, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A visitation to celebrate the life of Juan Lopez will be held on September 29, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home located at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on September 30, 2023, at Saint Pius V - Catholic Church at 824 Main St., Pasadena, TX 77506. Following the memorial service, burial services will be held at Grand View Funeral Home.
All friends and well-wishers are welcome to attend and pay their respects to Juan, share one last cold one, and bid him farewell.
