Johnny B. Land passed away on February 13, 2024. He was born in Houston, Texas on May 13, 1948 to Tony Lee Land and Georgia Pearl Lagravier. He was married to Brenda Buttler for 56 years. He had a career in managerial maintenance for Lubrizol Corporation for 30 years and Comal ISD for 10 years.
He was a member of the La Porte Police Reserves from 1974-1986; He was a Master Mason for 44 years and was a member of Archives Lodge 1399 AF&AM; He was a member of the order of the Eastern Star for 6 years.
He was a loving Son, Father, and Friend to so many. He had a passion and love for Motorcycles, Outdoors and Travel. Johnny was known as a man who was extremely creative and resourceful. He could fix anything or any problem anyone ever had with his creative solutions. Johnny was a very charitable human and participated in several cycling rides: The Gator Ride, Clay Walker Ride, Tour de Houston and at the age of 67 he completed the MS 150, a cycling ride from Houston to Austin with Team Connie Girl to benefit the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. He successfully did this for 3yrs straight.
Johnny's passing is deeply mourned by his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda Land (Buttler), his devoted son Patrick Land and wife Connie, his beloved daughter Christy Jackson, and his cherished grandchildren: Jordan Land and wife Charlie, Eric Land, Christopher, and Colin Bowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents Tony Lee and Georgia Pearl Land, and his only sibling, George Land, all of La Porte, Texas.
In honor of Johnny's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National MS Society in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be made in memory of Johnny B. Land in honor of Connie Land: Team Connie Girl, a testament to Johnny's enduring spirit of compassion and solidarity in the face of adversity.
