Johnny Carrizales Hernandez, age 90, of Pasadena, Texas was born on October 20, 1931 and entered eternal rest on June 23, 2022 after a brave battle with Parkinson’s. Johnny was born in Taft, Texas to parents, Federico and Alvina Hernandez.
Johnny was a Marine Corp. veteran and was immensely proud to be a Marine. After completion of his service with the Marines, Johnny joined a security detail for a United States Federal Judge. Shortly afterwards, he joined the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service and was employed for 20 years as a Deportation Officer.
Johnny will also always be remembered for his humor and generosity. He enjoyed listening to Mexican music, watching sports, old western movies, and reading his Bible.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Federico and Alvina Hernandez, brothers, Frutoso and Robert, sister, Felice, and daughter, Julie Ann Chapa.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Hernandez; children, Viola Jean Hernandez, her husband Ken Robeson and Christine Schoots, her husband, Harrie Schoots; his grandchildren Michael Chapa, Lori Chapa, Christy Dodgin, Geoffrey Griffin, Jonathan Griffin, Marshall Griffin, Adrian Schoots and Sasha Schoots; his brothers Fabian Hernandez, Fred Hernandez, David Hernandez and his sister, Faye; and his eleven great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Johnny will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Grand View Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.
