John E. (Pete) Mustin was born July 20, 1930 and passed peacefully on April 25, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Houston, Texas to John Lee and Marion Mustin. He grew up in Deer Park, TX attending Deer Park schools and graduated in 1949 where he lettered in all sports, and went to bi-district football playoffs as quarterback. While in school he worked as an usher at the Blue Bonnet Movie Theater on Broadway St. in Houston.
After graduating high school he married his high school sweet heart, Bonnie. His first job after high school was working construction operating heavy equipment for Ballantyne Construction. In 1955 he went to work for Rohm & Haas and retired as a shift supervisor in 1991. Pete enjoyed his retirement working on various projects with his family. He also enjoyed fishing and boating, even building two wooden boats in his garage. In later years he loved entertaining his grandchildren and smoking cigars with family and friends.
He is survived by Bonnie, his wife of 72 years, and his children, Gay Lynn Mustin, Eric (Gay H.) Mustin, Merrilee (Frank) Payne, and Greg (Terri) Mustin, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
