John Hausler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and son, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda Elaine Hausler.
John was born on October 19, 1935 in Houston, Texas to John Albert and Amelia Mueller Hausler. In 1942 the family moved to Golden Acres where, to hear him tell it, he had the most wonderful childhood. He attended Golden Acres Elementary, South Houston Jr. High, where he excelled in basketball, and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1954. He met his wife Elaine at the Pasadena Bowling Alley where he was bowling on the lane next to her and her father Marvin. They were married on January 23, 1958. John began working at Rohm and Haas in 1959 and retired from there after 39 years in 1998.
After retiring, he helped take care of his parents until their death. After the death of his mother, he began collecting stuffed animals for the area nursing homes for them to use as prizes in their bingo games. John loved nothing more than being with family and friends.
He leaves his loving wife of 63 years, Elaine. His daughters Tammy and husband Robert, Wendy and husband Ricky, and Leslie. His cherished grandchildren Amanda and Erin Hardy, Evan Gushwa and fiancé Alyssa Black, Andrew and wife Laura, Madison, Avery Fay and fiancé Clay Schlosser. His adorable great grandchildren Raiden and Eli Gushwa and Isabella and Alessandra Fay. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
