He worked in road construction prior to moving to the Houston area. Once there, he worked odd jobs in construction, until he joined the United Association of Plumbers Local # 68, which he remained a member of until his death.
Jimmy was a devoted husband and father, spending his evenings as a Scout Master, a baseball coach, and an assistant basketball coach. After retiring in his 50’s, he spent his time gardening, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. He spent his summers making ramen noodles, teaching his grandkids how to make camp fires, how to fish, drive a boat…although that one is questionable. He also passed on a love of all kinds of music to his family.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Patricia, his son Jeffrey Myers, his grandson Beren Myers, his parents DY and Ruby Myers, and his beloved daughter Valley Williams Myers.
He is survived by his sons Keith and Bryan, his sisters Christine Perona, Betty Trappe, Linda Bohannan (Robert), his brother Drew Myers, grandchildren Treanna and Brandon Von Ruff, Ariel and Danny Trucke, Skylar and Derek Ybarra, Landyn and Erik Stephenson, Colton Myers and nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM with a Celebration of Jimmy's life beginning at 2:00PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Immediately following, he will be laid to rest at Grand View Memorial Park.
