Jerry Heaton, 78, of Pearland, TX was born on January 16, 1942 in Quincy, IL and entered into rest on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 . Jerry was the eldest of four children born to Loran Heaton and Thelma Heaton. Growing up, Jerry attended Berrlane High School, Quincy Jr. High, and Quincy High School and lived in Quincy, Illinois until the age of 24.
Jerry was married to Sylvia Turner in 1963 in Quincy, IL. In 1971, he was married to Dorothy Adams for 35 years. Early in his career, Jerry worked at Grand View Memorial Park, and later for Texas Pipe and Bending as a pipe fitter helper, he then went on to work for Nokia Assembly Plant in Fort Worth, TX where he was recognized twice as employee of the month. Jerry finished his career working as a security guard for many years. There, his hard work was again recognized and served as Officer of the Month.
In 2004, after 25 years of service, Jerry entered retirement and began to enjoy his time woodworking, fishing, gardening, and caring for the ducks, rabbits, chickens, roosters, and geese at his home.
He was a devoted husband and a loving father, was hardworking, faithful, and easygoing. Among his greatest joys, were the birth of his children.
Jerry is preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Turner Heaton; second wife, Dorothy Adams Heaton; father, Loran Heaton; mother, Thelma Heaton; brothers, Loran Heaton Jr. and Walter Max Heaton; and “aunt/second momma” Ruth Heaton.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Heaton, Kristina Puckett Guerrero, Leah Heaton Douglas; brother, Virgil Heaton, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
