Jean Burwell Akers

Jean Akers, 78 of Deer Park, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011. She was born on August 23, 1932 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Tully and Vernie Burwell. She was a member of Faith Bridge Church and was retired from Pasadena Independent School District where she worked in the Payroll Department. Jean is preceded in death by her husband Hermann Akers in 2008. She is survived by son, Michael Akers and wife Sharon; daughter, Sheryll Gilbert and husband Steve; brother, Wilbur Burwell; sisters, Wilma Burwell and Sue Burwell; grandchildren, Jennifer Sheek and husband Justin, Jeffrey Akers, Justin Akers, Scott Gilbert, and Cheyenne Aguillard and husband Dave. Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 9AM to 11AM at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow the visitation in the Chapel at 11AM at Grand View Funeral Home.
