Janet Logan, 82, of Deer Park, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, November 27, 2022. She was born in Jolo, West Virginia, on July 10, 1940 to her parents Mary Louise (Smith) and Holly Lloyd Breeden. She spent her childhood in the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia alongside her 9 siblings. In school, she showed her vivacious personality as a cheerleader.
As the oldest child, she took on the role of “mother” from a young age, helping to care for all her siblings. She was always the person that anyone could turn to for help. One of her most important relationships that she had was with her mother. As “Momma’s girl” she would spend as much quality time as she could with her.
On March 2, 1959 she was united in marriage to Winfred Logan and moved to Pasadena TX that same year. It was here that they raised their three children Jeannie, Randy & Pam. Throughout their nearly 63 years of marriage, they created a truly remarkable life together that focused on their love of one another, their family and their Lord.
When Janet lost her mom in 1979, she became the matriarch of the entire family. Not only to her own children but also as the “mother figure” to her own siblings, carrying on the love and guidance that she learned from her mother. Over the years, she never failed to be the support system to the ENTIRE family. The person that could be counted on when someone was in need.
Her greatest accomplishments in life were being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother figure to her siblings after. While she was tiny in stature, she had nerves of steel and would often be referred to as feisty and as a spit fire. She stood up for what she believed in and was never afraid to tell you exactly what she thought when she felt it needed to be said.
When Janet accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, it was a turning point for the entire family. She raised her kids and guided her grandchildren to a path that lead to Christ. She was actively involved with the church choir for many years. Winfred and Janet were also very involved with the Young at Heart group at Underwood Baptist Church, often hosting many nights of fellowship, games and fun.
She will be remembered for many wonderful things such as her patience, sense of humor, her love of “mawmaw juice” but most of all, the love that she showed to her entire family that has embedded itself into each of our very souls.
Janet is lovingly survived by her three children and spouses: Jeannie (Chuck) Hunter of Pasadena, TX, Randy (Valerie) Logan of Pasadena, TX and Pam (David) Yeater of Livingston, TX; 8 grandchildren: Chastity (Joe Paul) Altman, Scott (Chynna) Prenzler, Randy (Brittney) Logan, Chaz (Ana) Hunter, Ryan (Brittney) Prenzler, Tyler Halvorson, Skyla Domingue and Christian (Randi) Domingue. 8 great grandchildren: Randall Logan, Logan Prenzler, Reagan Logan, Tuff Altman, Brenton Prenzler, Juliana Hunter, Tessa Prenzler and Melanie Prenzler. Siblings: Marvin (Donna) Breeden, Sandy (Tony) Gomez, Pat (Eursel) Logan, Bill (Vicki) Breeden and Connie (Junior) McPeek.
