James Harold Raney, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away on August 4, 2023 in Houston, Texas. He was born in Buckholtz, Texas on April 16, 1927 to Clarence Stacy Raney and Rowena Buck. He was married to Betty Raney for 13 years. James worked in the Oil Industry for Shell Oil Company Refinery. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 1155, American Legion Post 0521 and the Shriners. James Drove the Shriners Children’s van for twenty years from ICA to Galveston Shriners Burn Center. He had a passion for singing, dancing, 42 dominoes and gardening.
James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and his son, Butch Raney.
He is survived by his wife, Betty McNutt Raney; daughters, Diane Parisi (Don) of Katy, TX., Pam Willis (Larry) of Centerville, TX., Denise McCord (Chris) of Pearland, TX.; grandchildren, Carl Parisi (Adrienne) of Banner, Wy., Tina Parisi of Katy, TX., Jennifer DeLome (Tracy) of Crosby, TX., Richard Willis of Mont Belvieu , TX., Matt Willis (Krista) of Summerville, SC., Tyler McCord (Carrie) of Baycliff, TX.; along with numerous great and great, great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy. Pasadena, TX. 77505 with visitation held 1 hour prior. A Committal Service will immediately follow at Grand View Cemetery.
A visitation for James will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A committal service will occur Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
