Jack Martin, 91, passed away on October 15, 2014 in Pasadena, Texas. He was born on July 1, 1923 in Marlin, Texas to John Rosycki and Anna Jasyczyk. Jack retired from Armco Steel, where he worked as an electrician. He was a devoted husband to his wife Lillian. He drove her everywhere, and visited her daily while she was in Paramount Nursing Home. Jack was a true gentleman, teacher and friend and he was loved by all who knew him. He had many artistic hobbies such as carving wood for gun stocks, making knives, and he was a lapidariest who polished and made beautiful jewelry proudly worn by Lillian. Jack bravely served his country in the United States Navy seeing many parts of the world. He continued to see the world through travel and traveled to every state collecting “rocks”, he was a “Rock Hound”. Jack treasured the outdoors, and enjoyed time spent hunting and fishing. He was also a horticulturist, with a green thumb and a passion for gardening. Jack had several pecan trees and willingly shared his pecan crop every year with friends and family, and by making his famous “pecan candy”.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Lillian Martin. He is survived by his brother J.B. Martin of California; niece, Bert and husband Doug Schulze of Waller, TX; nephew, J.C. Medeiros and wife Ann of Magnolia, TX; great-nephew, Travis Schulze and wife Robyn, great-great niece, Paige Schulze, great-great nephew, Connor Schulze of Katy TX, and special friend Karmen Meza.
