George was born in Wellsville, New York on November 13, 1945 to the late Theodore and Mildred Young. He was the youngest of four children and loved the outdoors from a very early age. George’s family relocated to Deer Park, Texas when he was 13 years old. He often told people he was a true Texan no matter where he was born.
George attended Deer Park High School and that is where he met his first wife, Patty. Together they had two children, Robert and Pam Young. In 1969, George married Kay and a few years later, they added another child to their family, Rhonda.
For the 45 years George and Kay were together, they raised their three children and gave support to all six of their grandchildren throughout their lives.
George worked in the Petrochemical industry for over 40 years and retired from Austin Industries in 2014. George loved hunting, fishing, shooting and watching TV in his spare time. His love for food was apparent at every meal…especially the ones his loving wife, Kay, cooked for him. George had a small circle of friends that have been a part of his life for over 40 years. He was often heard laughing about the crazy antics he participated in as an adult with these friends.
George is survived by his 3 children: Robert Young and ex-wife Colleen, Pam Grubbs and husband Jeff, Rhonda Jordan and husband Kirk; his 6 grandchildren: Krissy McDonald; Karli Knight and husband Josh; Amber Clement and husband Kyle; Steven McDonald and wife Jenna; Connor Young and wife Sam Young; and his almost favorite grand-son, Brandon Jordan; his great-grandchild Charli Kay Knight; his great-grandchild-to-be Knox Clayton Knight; his siblings: Sandra Seamans and Ted Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
George is now free from breathing machines and happily eating, fishing, hunting and watching TV with his wife Kay, his parents, sister Bonnie, and a huge amount of other family and friends in Heaven. His last breath was just the beginning of his new journey.
