Franklin D. Elmore, 78, of South Houston, went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2011. He was born in Mercer County, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Wade and Alice Elmore. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. He volunteered at the Veterans Hospital for over 38 years. He was the past commander for the DAV, MOPH and VFW. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Marie Juba Elmore; daughter, Sharon Shelton; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. He is survived by his son, Frank, Jr. and wife Janet; daughters, Margie Strother and husband George, Gladys Lominac and husband Mark and Alice Ceballos and husband Phillip; brother, Nathan Elmore of Princeton, WV; 14 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home. Chapel services will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow with military honors at Grand View Memorial Park.
