Frankie Lorie Franks, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 4, 2018, at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital in Sugar Land, TX. She was born February 24, 1924 in Wheeler, TX to Linton and Nora Beaty. She married William Harold Franks, a loving union that lasted 66 years until his death on September 11, 2008. She and Harold lived in Pasadena and Deer Park, TX for over 50 years. She had a passion for gardening, collecting birdhouses and hosting gatherings for her ever-growing family. She worked many years for the Pasadena Independent School District, a job that brought her and those around her a great deal of joy. She and Harold later moved to Deer Park, where she retired from P.I.S.D. Frankie truly lived life to the fullest, traveling to every state in the U.S. as well as many distant destinations, including Europe and Russia.
She was also the backbone of the family she and Harold created. A wonderful legacy carries on with her children, Pamela Ann Franks of Sugar Land, TX, William Harold Franks Jr and his wife Kathy of Sugar Land, TX and Rebecca Susan Van Hout and her husband Bruce Van Hout of Bailey, CO. The Franks story continues with 8 grandchildren, Teresa Cashion, Cara Smith, William S. Franks, Leah Franks, Angela Lamons, (Jason), Mandy Sturrock, (Matt), Kelly Rayburn, (Josh), Justin Van Hout, (KC). 13 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild in addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins today. We all simply and lovingly called her Memaw or Mamaw.
Family, friends, and others who wish to come and celebrate her life are invited to Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505 on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Viewing begins at 2:00 pm with services at 3:00 pm. Nephew, Reverend Dale Franks will administer the ceremony. Everyone who’s life was touched by this remarkable woman are encouraged to attend to reminisce, laugh, grieve and support each other.
