Evangelina H. Escareno, of 82 years, lived in La Porte, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 28, 2022, at her daughter Vivian side in her home in Alvin,Texas. On September 12, 1939, Evangelina was born to Pedro and Geneva Hernandez in Pasadena, Texas. In 1954, she met the love of her life Raul (Roy) G. Escareno, and they wed on January 14, 1957, married for 65 years, going on to have eight children.
Their children are Diane E. Zamora and husband Guadalupe, Roy Escareno Jr. and wife Yvonne, Abraham H. Escareno, Vivian E. Longoria and husband Ricardo, David H. Escareno, Cynthia R. Escareno, Neil E. Escareno and wife Deidre, William G. Escareno and wife Mary, Grand Daughter/Daughter Michelle A. Postel-Salinas and husband Tommy, Grand Daughter/Daughter Jennifer D. Barron and husband Jason.
Evangelina dedicated her life to her children and husband. Eva served under Pastor Roberto R. Villarreal as a Sunday school teacher. Roy and Eva ministered on Radio KFTG as DJ and Eva was a Prayer Warrior with sisters of the faith. Juntos Venceremos aired on television in the 90’s. Eva and Roy continued to have a radio ministry on the Radio Aleluya program Juntos Venceremos and retired in 2019. Eva continued to minister through Face Book Live with program Vencere Ministries and Vencedores. Eva also loved gardening, especially her roses.
She enjoyed shopping. Eva loved singing, praying, and going to church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren; her great-great-granddaughter Michellina was her bright light and joy. We will miss Evangelina H. Escareno greatly.
Evangelina is pre-deceased by her loving grandparents Arnulfa Loza and Tiburcio Ramos. Her parents Pedro and Geneva Hernandez. Siblings Lawrence Hernández, Minerva Hernandez, Pedro Hernandez Jr., Petra “Lola” Padron, and Juan R. Hernandez. Her son David H. Escareno, grandchild Azariah Escareno.
Eva’s family consists of thirty-one Grand Children, thirty-six Great-Grand Children, and four Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Eva’s living Siblings are sisters Guadalupe Arrellano, Mary Ruiz, Elizabeth Arias, Gloria Rosas.
