Ernestine was born on May 14, 1943 to Aaron Edwards Whisneant and Ruthie Mae Williams in Fred, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Lester Whisneant. Ernestine will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert Earl Durdin ("honey"), her daughters, Debbie Anders & Karen Schiller, her sons Robby Durdin & Ronny Durdin, son-in-laws Tony Anders & Damon Schiller, daughter-in-law Trina Durdin, grandchildren Justin Anders, Christopher Rolin, his wife Ashley Rolin, Heather Harris, her husband Jeff Harris, Jessica Garcia, her husband Rudy Garcia, Aaron Durdin, his wife Destiny Durdin, Brittany Durdin, Alyssa Durdin, Cody Schiller, & Aston Durdin, and great-grandchildren Alli Anders, Dominic Wuneburger, Julian Franco, Alexxa Garcia, Olivia Garcia, Alena Garcia, Wyatt Rolin, Demi Durdin, Blakely Durdin, Annsley Durdin & Greyson Durdin.
Ernestine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved camping, shopping, crafting, decorating, crocheting, bowling, Bunco and spending time with family. Her love of bowling lead her to a high score of 258!
The family will be receiving friends & loved ones for the visitation at the Grand View Funeral Home on Monday, July 17, 5:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 10:00 AM at the same location, with the burial to follow at 12:45 pm at the Veteran's Houston National Cemetery. The cemetery is located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038. Flowers may be received at the Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. Donations may be offered in her name toward the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
