Ernest O. Gardner was born on July 15, 1935 in Lillie, Louisiana and went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2020 in Houston, Texas. Ernest served in the US Army from September 21, 1955 until September 20, 1961. He retired from Mobil Chemical Pasadena Plant after 36 years of service. He was a member of Elkins Lake Baptist Church Huntsville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Elton Gardner and Hazel Cates Gardner, brothers Dewey, James & Irwin Gardner, Sons, Greg Gardner & J.D. Gardner.
He is survived by his wife Barbara A. Gardner; son Steven Gardner; Stepson & wife, Ronnie & Shannon Barnhart; Step daughter & husband, Kim & Keith Alexander, Grandchildren; Jared Gardner & wife Jessica, Justin Gardner & Ryan Gardner; Step Grandchildren Cara, Zachary & Kendall Barnhart and one Great grandchild Ethan Gardner. He is also survived by Sister Wilbur Pate, Brothers Ed Gardner & wife Frances & Benny Gardner, as well as numerous family members.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elkins Lake Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Ernest Gardner.
