Edward Wesley Williams, Jr. passed away on October 12, 2013 at the age of 85. He was born on April 23, 1928 in Ada, Oklahoma. Edward graduated from Pasadena High School, and worked 35 years for Champion Paper Mill until his retirement in 1986. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, and served during the Korean War. Edward was a pilot and loved flying. He was a flight instructor and taught many people how to fly. He enjoyed singing and playing his harmonica for the seniors in the nursing
home and at senior events. He loved motorcycles and playing baseball. He played baseball on the Champion Paper Mill baseball team as well as on the Army baseball team. Edward was a kind man who anonymously helped many people throughout his lifetime.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Wesley Williams, Sr. and Juanita Williams; and his son, Bob Williams of Lafayette, LA. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marie Williams; son, David Williams of Pasadena, TX; step-son Shannon Blackwell and his wife Teresa of Stafford, TX; granddaughter, Allison Williams-Fogg of Lafayette, LA; brother, John Gary Williams of LaVergne, TN; sisters, Margaret Clark of Port Orchard, WA, Barbara Cardwell of Tucumcari, NM, and Kathy Hamm of Pasadena, TX .
The family would like to extend a special word of thanks to A.R. Quin for his continued caring support and being with Edward during his final days.
